Published 2026 price lists in Egypt put metal braces at roughly 10,000 to 30,000 EGP, with ceramic, lingual and clear options costing more. The quote you receive depends as much on the clinic and the complexity of your bite as on the hardware itself.

Braces Price in Egypt by Type

Each type of brace costs a different amount because of its materials and how much it is customised. The table below shows the prices Premia Dental publishes on its website, dated February 2026. They come from a single clinic, so treat them as one reference point and not a national average.

Type of braces Approximate cost (EGP)
Traditional metal braces 12,000 – 30,000
Ceramic (tooth-coloured) braces 20,000 – 40,000
Lingual (hidden) braces 35,000 – 60,000
Clear aligners 45,000 – 75,000 and above
Palate expander (if needed) adds 5,000 – 12,000

Other clinics publish different numbers, which is why the braces cost in Egypt looks so wide online. Dr Ammar Clinics lists metal braces from about 15,000 EGP and ceramic from about 30,000 EGP, on a page published in February 2026. The directory EDC Hub (May 2026) quotes metal braces from 10,000 to 15,000 EGP and clear aligners at 40,000 EGP or more.

Smile House Dental Center gives a combined range of 15,000 to 45,000 EGP for treating both jaws in 2026. Dr Ammar Clinics prices aligners per tray at 4,000 EGP each, so the clear aligners price in Egypt rises with the number of trays your plan needs.

What Affects the Cost of Braces in Egypt?

The price is set by several factors together, not by the brace type alone. Premia Dental says the figure varies with the clinic and the case complexity, and that most treatments last between 12 and 24 months.

Location matters as well. EDC Hub notes that prices depend on where the clinic sits, giving the Fifth Settlement versus a local neighbourhood as an example, along with the doctor's expertise and the materials used. A palate expander, which widens a narrow upper jaw, is the main add-on and adds 5,000 to 12,000 EGP according to Premia.

Treatment time drives the bill too. The NHS says a fixed brace usually stays on for 1 to 2 years, with an appointment every 6 to 8 weeks, and that you then wear a retainer to stop teeth moving back. Ask whether follow-up visits, X-rays and retainers are inside the quote, because Dr Ammar Clinics lists follow-up visits as a cost factor without saying what its prices include.

You do not always have to pay in one go. EDC Hub reports that many premium clinics offer interest-free braces payment plans, typically over 6 to 12 months and often arranged through banks or financial services. Get the instalment terms in writing before you pay a deposit.

Who May Benefit

The NHS says braces are often recommended for children and teenagers after all their adult teeth have come through. Adults can wear them too, so age on its own should not rule you out of treatment, as the NHS explains.

The NHS also lists teeth that are badly crowded or stick out noticeably, upper and lower jaws that do not meet properly, and wide gaps between teeth as reasons for treatment. Crowding can also make chewing and cleaning harder.

Who May Not Be Suitable

Braces may not be right for everyone straight away. A study of orthodontic-periodontal planning in PMC, the US National Library of Medicine archive lists inadequate oral hygiene, smoking, an unsatisfactory response to gum treatment and uncompensated diabetes as factors that may make treatment unsuitable.

The same study says advanced bone loss, loose teeth or thin gum tissue call for closer monitoring throughout treatment. Your orthodontist decides after an examination whether any of these problems must be dealt with first.

Alternatives Within Your Braces Plan

Metal braces are the lowest-priced option on Premia's list. Ceramic braces cost 20,000 to 40,000 EGP and lingual braces 35,000 to 60,000 EGP, so the ceramic braces price stays below the 45,000 EGP at which clear aligners start.

If your back teeth cannot give enough support to move the rest, the PMC study describes temporary anchorage devices (TADs) as an alternative anchor for the movement. Your doctor will say which option fits your teeth after the examination.

Risks and Limitations

Braces carry risks that are worth understanding before you start. The American Association of Orthodontists warns against do-it-yourself treatment, such as using a rubber band to close a gap, because it can destroy the gum tissue that holds teeth in place and eventually lead to tooth loss.

The AAO adds that seeing a qualified orthodontist before moving any teeth saves time, money and unnecessary pain. A cheaper quote is not a saving if the plan has to be redone.

When to Seek Medical Help

The NHS lists a few problems after fitting that call for non-urgent advice from your orthodontist. One is when your braces break, or part of them does.

Contact your orthodontist as well if your gums become very red, swollen or painful. If you are seriously worried about any symptom after fitting, call your doctor or your nearest health facility.

Next Step

Every mouth is different, so a personal examination is the only reliable way to get an exact price and plan. The American Association of Orthodontists stresses seeing a qualified orthodontist before starting treatment.

When you book, ask for a written quote that names the type of braces and says whether it includes a palate expander, follow-up visits and retainers. That makes offers easy to compare. You can discuss your options with Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim: Book your appointment.
